The program pays Williams students to work in pairs to teach hands-on science lessons on a consistent weekly basis at Williamstown Elementary, Greylock Elementary, and Brayton Elementary. Williamstown Elementary is within wakling distance. Students drive department paid Zipcars to North Adams schools (5-10 min. drive). The goal of the Williams Elementary Outreach is to enhance hands-on science learning in the classrooms of the local elementary schools. The program also privodes funding for science supplies and field trips for these elementary schools. This teaching commitment is 2 and ah alf to 5 hours a week for one semester. Hours occur during the elementary school day, which runs from 8:30 to 3:00 Monday to Friday.
