Dining Services agreed to make a donation to CHAWAKUA, an organization that helps HIV/AIDS victims in Tanzania, provided that volunteers will help out with the all-campus picnic on May 15th.

Just by committing for 2 hours, you will be helping a lot of people CHAWAKUA reaches out to. The sign-up slots are as follows and I need 3-4 students per shift:
10:00 am – Noon
11:00 am – 1 pm
Noon – 2 pm

I got to know CHAWAKUA this Winter Study when I went to Tanzania with a Williams class. Toni Kraeva, Monel Chang, and I on a collaborative video project with the staff members of the organization. They do great things like providing
microfinance to HIV positive women and men, supporting the education of vulnerable youth, and organizing educational talks about sex and HIV. You can take a look at this 10-minute video (which I contributed to) to learn more about
it:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n3SII_OvRR4

But unfortunately, the organization is underfunded right now and we hope that this donation will provide some relief.

If you’d like to help out, please e-mail me at ba1@williams.edu with the time slots in order of preference.

Thanks,
