Welcome to the Center for Community Engagement!
Claiming Williams Day is coming, and we want to make sure that everyone who wants to participate can participate! Volunteers are needed on this day, Thursday February 4th, to work in the dining halls during dinnertime so that Dining Services staff members are free to participate in the day’s events and attend the discussions, workshops and performances. It’s going to be a really fun dinner, with all students, faculty, and staff invited.
It’s a great way to show your appreciation for our awesome dining hall staff and do something a little different with your evening. Shifts would be approximately 2.5 hours long. If you’d like to help out, e-mail jrg1@williams.edu asap with any time commitments you’d have between 4:45 and 10 in which you’d be unable to work. Thanks!
For fellow Eph, community, nation, and world.

It is hard to come to Williamstown without being struck by the majesty and seeming perfection of the place. Many of us go through our years here never looking past this “village beautiful” image. But beyond the green lawns and ivy-covered buildings of the College and the small-town bustle of Spring Street is a complex region full of challenges, struggles, surprises, and successes. The area around Williamstown provides meaningful opportunities for community engagement, internships, community-based research, and fun.
The big question is how to tap into all of this. This site is designed to help you connect with local organizations and opportunities, but it is only a first step. For more information about any of these opportunities or others that are not described here, or if you have ideas for a new project and want to discuss them, you are always welcome to contact the Center for Community Engagement and the Lehman Council for Community Engagement.
